Y-Motion Physical Therapy, is a locally owned and operated, limited liability company. Our clinic was founded on the belief that motion is an essential part of living, regardless of ones age or stage of life. We provide individualized, one-on-one rehabilitation and physical therapy programs to clients of all ages, and for all conditions. Our clinic also specializes in the treatment of school-aged and teen athletes, as well as injured workers.
With very few physical therapy clinics in the Baltimore region offering programs dedicated to the care of teen athletes and industrial workers, Y Motion LLC is committed to bridging this gap by ensuring that this population will be adequately served, through providing the specialized care needed for the prevention of injury, and the restoration of function after an injury occurs.
By providing individualized rehabilitation care, we promote recovery, maximize strength, improve conditioning, and increase protection from permanent injuries.
Our goal is to return our clients to their best level of function, while providing support throughout the entire journey. Every client who passes through our program will feel stronger, more functional, and have an an improved sense of well being.
Meet Yves
Yves is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). He earned his undergraduate degree in Exercise Physiology with a concentration in Athletic Training from Towson University in the year 2000. He then proceeded to a graduate degree in 2005, in the specialty of Physical Therapy from SUNY Downstate Medical University in Brooklyn, New York.
Yves is a certified Balance and Fall Prevention Specialist. He is a certified Dry Needling Specialist, Industrial Rehabilitation Specialist, as well as a Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES), through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).
Yves has worked as a Physical Therapist over the past 18 years. He began his career working at the Johns Hopkins Bayview- Outpatient Physical Therapy department, with a focus on neurology. At that time, his primary patients included individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), spinal cord disorders, concussion injuries, and balance disorders. He then worked for two years as a Contract Physical Therapist for Aberdeen Proving Grounds - US Military Base in Harford County, caring for mostly soldiers with various physical injuries. In 2011, Yves joined a locally owned physical therapy company, where he excelled in the Clinic Manager role for the Baltimore City office. After just three years, he was promoted to the position of Area Manager, overseeing eight physical therapy clinics within the company.
In June 2022, Yves opened the doors to his very own clinic in Baltimore City.
Yves has made it his mission to improve the health and wellness of individuals throughout the Baltimore region. He conducts classes on fall prevention strategies and balance improvement to avoid otherwise preventable injuries in the aging population. Besides providing excellent care to patients across the age spectrum and with various physical injuries, Yves conducts classes for certified coaches, on an ongoing basis, in the care and prevention of injuries within sports programs across Baltimore and the surrounding areas. He has spent 10 years working alongside coaches and athletes from Baltimore Polytechnic High School and various other schools in the area, to promote consistently elite-performing athletes and to develop injury prevention strategies for these youth athletes.
Yves believes strongly in volunteerism and giving back, both locally and internationally. In his capacity as a physical therapist, he has travelled to Honduras on more than one occasion, through his affiliation with Doctors Without Borders (OCHO Chapter) where he served on the board for 2 years, to provide care to populations who needed those services, but were unable to afford them.
One of his greatest professional achievements and source of pride, besides opening his very own physical therapy clinic, has been helping countless youth athletes succeed in their respective sport of choice over the years. Another has been mentoring several young minority men and women, who have graduated from high school and followed in his footsteps, by becoming physical therapists in the community as well.
When not working, Yves enjoys powerlifting classes, self-defense classes (Shorin- Ryu karate) that he does with his two beautiful daughters, as well as taking trips, hiking, and spending quality time with his amazing wife.
